Towards Organic: School to Home
Towards Organic: School to Home
T.O.V. Foundation implements Towards Organic: School to Home, an innovative community-based initiative in Mohati, Surkhet, Karnali Province. The project is designed to strengthen sustainable agriculture, education, nutrition, hygiene, and rural livelihoods by linking school-based learning with practical application at the household level.
The initiative introduces vocational agriculture education to schoolchildren, while simultaneously engaging mothers and households through hands-on training in organic farming, kitchen gardening, soil fertility improvement, and income-generation opportunities. Through the formation of Agri Child Clubs and Agricultural Mothers’ Groups, the project promotes active community participation, practical skill development, and stronger family engagement in sustainable farming practices.
By connecting education with real-life agricultural experience and market-oriented livelihood opportunities, the project contributes to improved farming methods, healthier living conditions, and increased awareness of sustainable agriculture among children and families. Following the successful implementation of its first two phases, the project is now progressing into its third phase.
